Windsurf and kite surf

Naxos location at the center of the Aegean Sea as well as its morphology makes it one of the most famous and ideal places in the world for the fans of windsurfing and kite surfing. Choose the beach of Agios Georgios and Amitis for the north winds and the beach of Agiasos for the south ones. Take your first steps in windsurfing in the calm and shallow waters of laguna (lagoon), or choose Mikri Vigla if you are more experienced. You will find there all the fans of windsurfing and kite surfing trying to harness the “Meltemi”, a north stream really common on the Greek seas. In the beaches of Agios Georgios, Plaka and Mikri Vigla you will find organized schools that will help you on your fist steps.

Climbing

The highest mountain of the Cyclades complex is located in Naxos, the famous mountain Za, which was named after the father of the Gods Zeus. With 1.002 m. altitude, it constitutes the ideal destination for the climbing fans. On the way to the top you will find the Za cave which was used by the ancient Greeks to honor Zeus.

Biking

Another ideal way to enjoy the unique magnificence of the island is biking. For the beginners we recommend the route towards the coastline at Agia Anna beach while the route from Sangri to Agiasou is a challenge even for the more experienced ones, however the outstanding scenery of the ride will totally reward you.

Diving

The seabed around Naxos has plenty unrevealed secrets that someone can admire and it is suitable for diving for both beginners and professionals divers. Discover the shipwreck “Marianna”, the wreck of the British fighter plane “Baufighter” and the impressive seabed at the big Glaronisi. In Naxos you will find a lot of diving schools with professional trainers and all the modern equipment ready to guide you at your underwater journey.
